Origin: Anosy, Madagascar
Grandidierite is a rare nesosilicate that was discovered in Madagascar back in 1902. The crystals themselves are already extremely rare, but only 1 in about 10.000 possess the clarity to facet it into a gemstone. These gems almost always contain inclusions and very rarely exceed half a carat in size.
